This tall ave shaped piece is a work in progress. It yields to three distinct textures and is balanced as it is but could have been explored further. But, I like the outcome and the smoked detail that ties it all together.

The form of each pot that I throw suggests what design I should add, whether a carved texture or smooth, burnished or natural and then, of course, what the fire will reveal. A bit of color or just the natural color of the clay terra sigilata that I use is but the accent.
