Years ago I had experimented with carving a relief pattern into the clay similar to the Chinese pots that I saw in museum. Here I take the inspiration from Matisse and his Cut Outs. I draw on paper a design, cut it out and the trace is onto the clay. Then I remove the background clay to reveal the raised image.

Different terra sigilata add to the overall design, which also has a funky twist at the top.
